"Therefore shall a man leave
his father and his mother, and
shall cleave unto his wife: and
they shall be one flesh." (Genesis 2:24)
Marriage. The union of two people bound by love. Just last Sunday, August 12 of this year, my friend Jennifer tied the knot the second time with her one and only love Lawrence Butcher. They actually got married first in England last May. They were both from different worlds but love has its own way of linking them together, bringing them to each other. I was never a believer of love can make you do things that you never thought possible. But Jen and Lawrence proved me wrong. Lawrence is from the United Kingdom and Jen whose Chinese is from my beloved country, Philippines. Jen had to leave PI for her to chase her dreams and migrated to the UK. I never really thought she'd find someone like him. She was the kind of girl who never really believed in love and those boyfriend thing way back college. She's the wisest amongst us, the most clever and she always gets her way of things. She's that kind of girl. Who knew she'll be the first to marry. That's where the clause applies "expect the unexpected." I never really had the full details of how their love began but from the little information I had, they met because of a common friend and they both share the same interests. They both are crazy, not crazy literally but they love to have fun. What I found the sweetest thing was that Lawrence had to travel 2 hours by train just to see Jen. That's LOVE, my dear. Isn't that romantic? God knows what I'd give to find someone like him.
I have witnessed the most dreamy and romantic wedding I have ever attended. Not just the theme of it but also seeing both of them happily in love with each other made me think she's one lucky girl but he's the luckiest guy on earth. The way he looks at her, is proof enough how madly and deeply crazy he is to her and so is she.
